Once it is on your home screen it opens full screen with no browser bars, keeps what you have already read available offline, and remembers your place. It stays free, and nothing extra is collected.
iPhone and iPad
This only works in Safari. Chrome and Firefox on an iPhone cannot add an app to the home screen, so open sunnahdaily.com in Safari first.
- Tap the Share button - the square with an arrow coming out of the top. It is at the bottom of the screen on an iPhone, and at the top right on an iPad.
- Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add at the top right.
If you do not see Add to Home Screen, scroll further down, or tap Edit Actions at the bottom of the list and turn it on.
Android
Open sunnahdaily.com in Chrome.
- Tap the three dots at the top right.
- Tap Install app, or Add to Home screen if that is what your phone calls it.
- Tap Install, then Add.
Some phones show an install banner along the bottom of the screen instead. Either way gets you the same app.
Computer
In Chrome or Edge, look for the small install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar, or open the browser menu and choose Install Sunnah Daily. Safari on a Mac can do it too: File, then Add to Dock.
What changes, and what does not
Installing does not create an account or move anything off your device. Your progress, streak, bookmarks and settings already live in this browser, and they carry straight over.
One thing worth knowing: the installed app and the website are separate storage as far as the browser is concerned on some phones, so a streak you built in Safari may start fresh in the installed app. Nothing is lost, and it only happens once.
You can remove it the same way you remove any app: press and hold the icon, then delete. That does not delete anything you saved in the browser itself.
