Umrah & Hajj Companion

The practical half of the journey: what to pack, what to tick off, what comes next, and where your group is staying. Everything saves on your phone and keeps working with no signal.

Learn first, travel second: the rites, their meaning and their fiqh live in Module 09: Umrah & Hajj, and the duas in Duas & Dhikr. This page is your working checklist for the trip itself. It is an educational and organizational aid - your group leader, and where they differ your scholar, outrank an app.

2 My trip notes

Private, on this device only - readable with no signal. Write what you'd need if you got separated from the group.

3 Umrah, step by step

Tick each rite as you complete it. The order matters; the details and duas are in the module.

4 The days of Hajj - what comes next

The 8th to the 13th of Dhul-Hijjah, in order. Open the day you're in.

Day 1 · 8 Dhul-Hijjah - TarwiyahTo Mina

Enter ihram (for tamattu' pilgrims), move to Mina, and pray Dhuhr through Fajr there - each prayer in its time, four-rakat prayers shortened to two. A day of settling in and dhikr. Next: Arafah.

Day 2 · 9 Dhul-Hijjah - ArafahThe Hajj itself

"Hajj is Arafah" (Jami' at-Tirmidhi 889). From noon to sunset: standing, dua, tears, asking. Dhuhr and Asr combined and shortened. After sunset, move to Muzdalifah without praying Maghrib first - it is prayed there, combined with Isha. Next: the night under the sky.

Day 3 · 10 Dhul-Hijjah - Eid dayThe busiest day

Fajr at Muzdalifah, gather pebbles, then to Mina. In order: stone the large pillar (Jamarat al-Aqabah) seven times, sacrifice, men shave or shorten, then Tawaf al-Ifadah in Makkah with the sa'i of Hajj. Most restrictions lift after stoning and cutting. Next: the days of Mina.

Days 4-5 · 11-12 Dhul-Hijjah - TashriqMina, dhikr, stoning

Each afternoon: stone all three pillars, small to large, seven pebbles each, with dua between them. Days of eating, drinking and remembering Allah. Leaving on the 12th before sunset is allowed; staying for the 13th is better.

Day 6 · 13 Dhul-Hijjah - and farewellLast stoning, last tawaf

Stone the three pillars once more if you stayed. Before leaving Makkah, the farewell tawaf (Tawaf al-Wada) - let the House be the last thing you meet. May it be accepted.

5 The talbiyah, always in reach

"Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am - You have no partner - here I am. Truly all praise, favor and dominion are Yours. You have no partner."
