Dhul-Kifl appears twice in the Quran, both times in elite company: “And Ismail and Idris and Dhul-Kifl, all were of the patient. And We admitted them into Our mercy. Indeed, they were of the righteous” (Quran 21:85-86), and again among “the excellent” alongside Ismail and Al-Yasa (38:48).
His name suggests “the one who took on a pledge.” Early reports tell of a man who guaranteed he would fast the days, pray the nights, and judge between people without anger, and then actually kept that pledge, day after day, until keeping it became his name. Beyond this, the sources stay humble, and so do we. What the Quran certifies is enough: patience, righteousness, mercy earned.
The lesson to keep
Lesson: Allah records reliability. Keeping your commitments is a rank, not a detail.
