Ayyub had the full blessing package: wealth, land, a large family, health, and he was grateful for all of it. Then, as a test from Allah, it was stripped away layer by layer: the wealth, the children, and finally his own body, wasted by illness for long years while most people drifted away.
What makes Ayyub immortal is what he did not do. He did not rage at Allah, did not renegotiate his faith, did not perform his pain. When he finally called out, his dua was almost shockingly gentle: “Great harm has afflicted me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful.” (Quran 21:83). No demands, no complaint list. Allah answered: a spring at his feet to wash and drink, health restored, family returned and doubled, “a mercy from Us, and a reminder for the worshipers.” (21:84). The Quran's verdict on him: “What an excellent servant!” (38:44).
